History of Marathi (मराठी)
Marathi is an Indian-Aryan language spoken by Marathi people in the Indian State of Maharashtra. Marathi is projected to be more then 1300 years old and it is considered that this language evolved from Sanskrit and Prakrit (a group of languages spoken in ancient India) and its syntax and grammar from Pali. The script of the language of Marathi is ‘Devnagri’. Marathi is one of the easiest Indian language to learn as is written exactly the way it is spoken. Marathi is one of the 22 ne official languages and 14 regional languages of India. It is the co- official languages of the states of Maharashtra. The state of Goa also recognises Marathi as an official language along with Konkani. Marathi is the medium of everyday’s communication in Maharashtra, and is also used in education, government, business, and the Media.
